Hi. This is my website. Why this is on here-- no particular reason, other than to waste your time and mine :D The objective is fairly simple: I'm going to write, and you're going to read.

Entry #1. 2010

WELL!

Looks like I made it through the first month of the new decade.  Lots has happened, and it feels great!  I’ve set a bunch of goals for myself this year, and it looks like its all taking off—slowly but surely. smile  I’m so serious in getting in line with school, work, my debt, social life, and just… finding progress.  It feels like 2009 went by without getting much done (by my standards), so hopefully 2010 will make up for what I meant to accomplish last year as well.  Anyway.

I kicked off the year with good friends and family, can’t remember the majority of the night, but it was a great way to kick off the decade to say the very least. smile

Lets start off with the main thing that I’ve been meaning to get off my chest:

Debt is not a cute thing, folks.  Credit cards are NOT your friend, and in this economy, INTEREST RATES are definitely not your friend.  You see, when you decide to live on your own, suddenly, there are a lot more things you need to pay for.  Suddenly, I was in between a few jobs that didn’t offer stability and… yeah.  Lots of things piled up, and when I wasn’t financially secure, a credit card sometimes offers relief in situations like mine (tuition, books, food, gas, etc).  Soooo it built, and it built, and it built to an amount where it just didn’t seem like a paycheck would help pay for it.  So I sucked it up and looked at my options and decided that it was time to let go of one of my most valuable collections.

adoptions

For the past 5 or so years now, my blythe collection went from 3-4 dolls to 12-15 dolls.  Yeah, I know! haha.  The value on them is more than what any non-collector could ever imagine. Lucky for me, when putting together my collection, I chose the dolls that built lots of value over time—some whose valued even doubled by the time I put them up for sale, or “adoption” as we say in the Blythe community.  In short, by selling about 6 of the 8 dolls pictured above, the collected revenue has totaled to a little over 3 grand?  IN DOLL MONEY.  Love!  Who ever said Blythes weren’t an investment? (Lito, COUGH) wink I still have a couple of dolls that need to be sold, though.  For those who are wondering, no, I didn’t sell my entire collection. But that will be left for the next entry.

So that’s been my “January Project”.

I’ve also sold my soul to my company (USA) for the first quarter of the year, and working every weekend until the end of March—so loong social life!  This time, though, I’ve been promoted in my job title(s), so by the end of the season I should be DEBT FREE and hopefully have some spare change for my next topic:

germany

If all goes as planned, and I get my finances in line, I, Sonia Ramirez, will be off to GERMANY! ksjdlifhsdlfhjaklsdgnkasdgasg Its great when you have friends who share the same passion for traveling as you do. smile  I seriously can’t wait!  Tour dates TBA.

I also decided to get serious with school and spoke to a counselor regarding my major/teaching credentials, and it looks like I still have a few years to go, BUT!  At least I now know 1) what school I want to go to; 2) what major/credential program I want to go into; 3) how I’m going to get there.  Now I have a better idea of how much time/work is left, so my future isn’t as “up in the air” as it used to be.  Taking control of things feels good.

Speaking of school, guess who graduated from obedience school?!?!

Yay!
Do as I say!

My puppy rules.  I swear.

Anyway, I have stuff to do.  But yeah, that’s me in a nutshell thus far.  We’re off to a good start!
