Baking!

November 26th, 2008 || Comments (0)

Let’s learn an old fact about Sonia that a lot of people never really knew about me.

I love to bake.  I RULED the kitchen as a youngster, mostly during my junior high and high school years.. I baked bread and cupcakes and cookies ALL the frickin’ time.  Sometimes even once a week.  I even took cake-making lessons from my godmother (who makes cakes for a living) in elementary school, haha… and we’re talking LEGIT cake making, with fillings and cute decorations and shit. I would make birthday cakes for my friends and even my coach during high school.  It had been a while since I’d baked anything, and so… I guess I started to get back into the swing of things around a year ago when Albert’s birthday came around, and Eli and I made him cupcakes at her house, haha.  And I guess it went from there… I baked cupcakes for Nana for her birthday (way early in the year), and then it wasn’t recently where I really got bit by the baking bug and started baking mini cakes for Albert here at home, and maaaannnnn I don’t know if its my stove or what, but my cakes have been coming out extra fluffy as of recently wink I even went out of my way just last week to learn a cheesecake recipe and that went beyond successful grin wheee!

And baking its super perfect for this weather, if you ask me… it totally warms up my super cozy apartment!
So tomorrow, that’s what I’ll be doing grin I’m going to bake a cake, some cupcakes on the side, and a cheesecake smile I’ll leave the food part to everyone else, haha.  =)

Yay for baking smile

I can’t wait!

Whoa!

Looks like I haven’t posted here in a while.

Well, lets talk about what I’ve done since then.

For one, I’ve gotten my car back!!!!
I had another batch of ebay auctions go up, and have sent my stuff out
have discovered how ridiculously expensive polaroid film has become
Celebrated 2 YEARS with Albert last Friday
Ate at the best restaurant and had the BEST food I’ve ever had in my LIFE
Made my return to the gym grin
Went back to AI (to pick up my transcripts wink)
And am getting a closer and closer to finishing my college apps and sending them out.
Went to see the Sounds music
Other than that… I’ve been staying home a lot.  I hope to paint my restroom and hopefully the bedroom within the next month or so.  I just have to find a weekend where I’m actually NOT working for once :P

Applications are due on the 30th.  9 days to go! Yikes O_O
Competition season’s slowly creeping up.
And I want more blythes.

Have a picture.
Hmmmm...

That is all.

Weather change.

I love the fall and winter.  Most of all, I love the cool, crisp weather we’ve been having lately.  The sky is open and clear, the wind is light, and the air is sooo clean and pure, it almost hurts to breathe.  Times like these takes me back to when I was 12/13 in junior high, hanging out with my friends at afterschool intersession… wanting to go back into the warm classroom, because it was too cold to be waiting around outside.  And the rainy days? Man!  I remember walking out to sixth period with Daniel, Denise, Carmen and Maria… splashing around in the puddles on the way to our History class- my hair would be soaking wet, my socks would be soggy, but I didn’t care, because I knew I’d be hitting a nice warm shower as soon as I got home.  It was times like those that made me fall in love with the rain and cold weather.  All of my memories in the rain and cold have been good ones, which is why I absolutely adore it.  I guess you can say its something that’s been a part of me for more than half my life =) Makes me wonder if I’d ever be able to survive the east coast.  Although I don’t think I would, it’d be nice to try it out :P

My morning.

I just had the perfect morning.

It included Starbucks coffee, a toasted bagel with cream cheese, a movie (Eagle VS Shark), and albert.  And it all happened before 9 am =)
